(scroll down to view Kristen's photo)"As a freshman in high school when I started this project, I had always hoped that it would carry on and continue to grow but seeing how much it has blossomed in the past four years just astounds me.  I can't wait to see what the future holds for the H.U.G.S. to All program."History: The H.U.G.S. program was created in 2004 by LFHS graduate, Kristen Hughes. After delivering more than 800 Thanksgiving dinners to families in need over a three year period, she received The Volunteer Center of Lake Forest/Lake Bluff's 2007 Heart of the Community Award. Since 2004, thousands of residents of Lake County have pitched in to provide direct food aid to food pantries and families in need through the Kristen Hughes HUGS Food Drive.
